It’s been two whole years now since we all stumbled across this world… So much has changed, yet so much remains the same. We’ve all grown since then, made new friends, improved our skills, found ourselves in new circumstances, and so much more.

I can’t thank you all enough for being along for the ride… I really appreciate you all being here and interacting with this world I've made. I’ve been somewhat protective of this world for a long time now, and have only somewhat recently opened up to allowing others to add to it, but what if I allowed you, the community, to leave your mark on this world?

What ideas do you have for our future?

The prompts for this event are heavily focused on creativity, adding to the world, and working on your own personal characters and designs!

Three prompts from this event are focused on the creation of flora, fauna, and towns / cities! These three prompts are part of our Worldbuilders Contest! For information on this contest, read on!

WORLDBUILDERS CONTEST:

The Worldbuilders Contest is a contest we are holding for the duration of the event. You will be able to submit your ideas for flora, fauna, and cities that we may add to the official lore! (With your consent of course) The judging for this will be done by me and the mod team and will not be based on artistic or writing skill. We will be judging purely based on your ideas and the effort put in!

Each category will have a first, second, and third place winner! Here are the rewards for each:

FIRST PLACE:

1 No Limit MYO Slot

This slot has no limits on traits. You will be able to use any traits up to layer 6, as well as any number of artificial traits. (Including our new ones introduced further in this news post!)

SECOND PLACE:

1 Layer 6 MYO Slot

THIRD PLACE:

1 Heaven’s Haversack OR Enchantment Scroll OR Curse Scroll (Your choice)

We may also choose one or two runner-ups for each category! Runner-ups will be rewarded with 15 gold!

We also have a gift art prompt again for the event! One winner will be rolled every week to win one of the new trait items! (You can only win one of the raffles though! This is to give everyone a chance to get one of the new items. You can still complete the prompts for a raffle ticket and currency though!) All prompts from this event (As well as the two new activities listed further down this news post) will reward rainbow shells (a currency exclusively for our anniversary events!) and a raffle entry into this month's raffles! This month, the five designs below will be raffled as well as two layer 6 MYO slots and one of each of the new trait items!

For this event's raffles, we will be doing the same thing as last event! We will not be rolling people for individual prizes and instead, we will be rolling enough people for the amount of prizes, then letting those folks pick which prize they want! For example, the first person to be rolled to win a prize will get the first pick of the prizes, the second person rolled will get the second pick, and so on!

As the weather gets warmer and warmer each day, more Tatsukoi begin to spend more time out and about!
To capitalize on this, Scout has decided to host a market for craftsmen and artists from all throughout the Cascades to sell their work!

GUEST ARTIST APPLICATIONS:

We are looking for a handful of guest artists for some sales in May! Each artist will be able to create one - two auction designs (amount depends on the amount of GAs we choose to take!) and optionally one raffle design.

ANNIVERSARY DESIGN EXCHANGE:

Since our last exchange in December of 2023, I’ve really wanted to do another. So I figured that, considering the theme of this anniversary event, this would be the perfect time to do so!

Each participant will receive one free Tatsukoi designed to their preferences as long as they follow the rules of this exchange!

RULES:

☆ All designs must be fullbody and at least cleanly sketched and flat colored!

☆ You may use any traits up to layer six, as well as ONE curse or enchantment trait!

☆ Follow the design prompt given to you! If you make a design that does not follow the prompt whatsoever you will be disqualified and will not receive a design.

☆ If something comes up, and you do not believe you will be able to finish your design, please let me know via DMs! We can talk about how best to handle the situation depending on how much of your design you completed!

☆ Do not post WIPs of your design anywhere! This includes anywhere in the Discord! If you have questions about your design, or want to make sure something looks alright, DM me (eggomancer) on Discord or on Toyhouse!

☆ Do not discuss your prompt with anyone! This is being run secret santa style! Everything should be a surprise!

☆ In the event that your designer is not able to finish their design, or is disqualified, a backup designer will create a design for you!

☆ In the event that the person you are making a design for is disqualified, you will be given the choice to keep, raffle, or scrap the design. You will receive a layer 6 MYO as compensation if you raffle or scrap the design!

In addition to the event, this month also marks the introduction of two new monthly activities: Pepper’s Kitchen and Tatsukoi of the Month!

PEPPER’S KITCHEN:

Pepper’s Kitchen is a cooking based activity! It is meant to encourage folks to spend time cooking or baking for themselves or a loved one, an activity I personally believe is very good for your mental (and physical, depending on the food) health. Each month, Pepper will have a new theme he wants you to cook up! If you can fulfill his demands, he’ll have a treat waiting for you!

TATSUKOI OF THE MONTH:

This activity is a monthly gift art activity, but for a specific Tatsukoi… the Tatsukoi of the month! Each month, one Tatsukoi owned by the previous month’s winner will be available to draw for the Tatsukoi of the Month prompt! All who submit an entry for the prompt will be entered into a raffle to decide who the Tatsukoi for the next month will be! In the case that there are no entries, an NPC will be chosen!

For our first month, Cyrus will be the featured Tatsukoi!

That’s it for this news post! It’s a bit of a big one but there’s a lot of new stuff introduced during this event so it can’t really be helped, I hope you guys have fun with it! Thank you all for being here and participating! I never really expected to get to the point we are now with the site and all, I’ve said it before but I’m so happy it’s finally released.

It feels simultaneously crazy that it’s been two years, and also like it has been longer? So much has happened in my life since starting this species… My boyfriend moved in with me and my parents last year and it’s been such a positive change in my life, I’ve made (and reconnected with) some of my closest friends through this community, just a lot of good has happened overall. Now I just need to figure out a good work balance between everything and I’ll have everything down… (cursed with the overworking disease) I think I'm slowly getting better at handling that though.

Enough rambling from me though… Thank you all so much for being here and have fun with the event!!!

As the Midwinter festival comes to an end, so too does most of the fall's snowfall. The weather has begun to warm, and soon spring will arrive.

However, that time is not now. Before winter fully comes to a close, there is one last holiday to be had... the week of Affection's Favor! This week long holiday is all about showing appreciation for the loved ones in your life, but is most commonly celebrated by as a romantic holiday!

Common gifts for this holiday are sweet treats (the most common being chocolate candy or small red velvet cakes) however other gifts more tailored to the giftee are still common (and likely more appreciated) too.

Restaurants, parks, and other venues of entertainment are often packed during this week, as many invite their loved ones out for a fun night out. Gifts are often handed out during these excursions!

This year's Midwinter festival is a very special one.
A meteor shower has been predicted to coincide with the festival.
The news has spread throughout the falls, and with it, many have begun to flock to Northchill.

Everyone throughout the falls has been invited to partake in the festivities, and perhaps to even make a wish upon these falling stars!

We will be trying out a different system for prompts! We have several prompts that will last the span from December to the end of January! This change has been made in the hopes that it will make things better for all parties involved!

The community will have much more time to work on prompts, as well as multiple prompts to do! As for me (eggomancer), this will give me a lot more time to work on new additions for the website! (As well as take some... very needed breaks inbetween...)
