[PK-APR25] No Flour Banana Cake (Recipe!)

0 Favorites ・ 0 Comments

Do you have some bananas that are about to expire? Too lazy to make banana bread? No flour? No milk? No problem!
Let's make some magical no-flour banana cake!

Make sure to ask for help from an adult if you are a minor!

INGREDIENTS:

- 4 good ol' bananas
- 4 eggs
- 1 box of fine flaked oats
- half a cup of oil
- one and a half cups of sugar
- one tablespoon of cinnamon (optional)
- half a tablespoon of baking powder

Extra: Any toppings you want really, I only had chocolate syrup at hand, but even ganache or caramelized bananas will taste great!

ingredients!

You will also need a bowl to prepare the ingredients and a pan to bake the cake in. :)

{♡ STEP ONE ♡}

-
Preheat your oven at 180°C while you prepare your cake. It should preheat for at least 15 minutes!

- Prepare a pan by adding either butter or non-stick oil spray to it. Whichever method you prefer will be fine. I use butter myself, because it is more accessible to me!

{♡ STEP TWO ♡}

In the bowl, you'll want to mix the bananas, eggs, oats, oil, sugar, and cinnamon together.

Add all ingredients

Pro tips!
- Make sure to break each egg into a little receptacle and add them separately to the bowl, just in case one of the eggs is bad, you won't lose your remaining ingredients!
(Just make sure to wash the receptacle afterwards if you get a bad egg, yuck)
- Also, if you'd like to, you can mash the bananas beforehand to make mixing easier, but if they are darkened already, they should be soft enough that just mixing them with the rest of the ingredients will do the trick, don't worry!

Mix!

Mix well until everything is homogenous!

{♡ STEP THREE ♡}

Add the baking soda and mix well!
Why? I don't know why, but it does seem to work better this way. ?_?

Pro tips!
- If you'd like, you can add half a cup of powdered chocolate during this step, too - you don't need to since the banana and cinnamon are already very flavorful, but some people seem to enjoy it!
(be adventurous, get wild I guess!)

Baking soda!

{♡ STEP FOUR ♡}

Add everything to your pre-prepared pan and into the oven it goes!

to the pan!

-
You'll bake your cake at 180Cº for 20 to 30 minutes.

- Use a fork or a toothpick to check on the cake's softness - if the fork/toothpick is coming out with bits and bobs of cake (aka, looking wet), it is still too raw!
If it is coming out dry, you are on the right path! Just keep watching for it in case you'd like the outside a bit more golden - I prefer that way since it let's me know it is well baked!
Important: -> Don't keep it in the oven if the corners are starting to burn! <-

{♡ STEP FIVE ♡}

Take it out of the oven carefully using oven mittens, and let it cool off. You can decorate with your preferred toppings in the meantime! (I've done badly drawn hearts with my chocolate syrup)

hearts time!

Enjoy! Your cake might come out thinner if you use a longer pan like mine, but it will still be as delicious and full of love! (The hearts definitely add the extra love)

yumyum
